게임 플레이는 어드벤쳐+경영+전략 시뮬레이션이라 할수 있는데, 플레이를 하면서 스파이스 채취와 하코넨과의 전쟁을 해야된다. 스파이스 채취가 늦어지면 황제에게 갈굼당하고, 하코넨과의 전쟁에 대비하지 않으면 세력을 잃게되기에 자원채집과 전쟁의 밸런스를 맞추어야 한다.
